SAN ANGELO — A San Angelo man has been arrested after investigators learned someone threatened to "blow up" their relative's home, according to a statement from police.
About 8:44 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 28, 2021, police arrived to a home engulfed in flames in the 2400 block of West Harris Avenue. The fire had started to spread to another home, according to the statement.
As the fire department began extinguishing the blaze, investigators learned it may have been intentionally set by the resident's adult son, who "threatened to blow up" the residence, which was followed by an explosion heard by neighbors and a fire, according to the statement.
No injuries were reported.
Police later arrested Justin Cuellar, 28, in the 2700 block of Raney Street. Cuellar was charged on suspicion of arson with intent to cause damage to a habitat. He remained in Tom Green County Detention Center with no bond as of 4:15 p.m. Monday, Nov. 29, 2021, according to online jail records.
